Kiara Arends was crowned Miss Universe Aruba 2022 by Minister Ursell Arends and Sashed by Minister Xiomara Maduro
The Reigning Queen Thessaly Zimmerman Miss Universe Aruba 2021 has her successor Kiara Arends Miss Universe Aruba 2022 crowned by Minister Ursell Arends, Minister of Transport, Integrity, Nature and Older Adult Affairs and sashed by Minister Xiomara Maduro, the Minister of Finance and Culture at the special event at Crystal Theater Star Promotion Hall Oranjestad on Sun, Jul 31, 2022 which commenced at 7PM Aruba Time.
Wed, Dec 28, 2022: Aruba's Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes shared "Our Miss Universe Kiara Arends will be making her final preparations for her trip to New Orleans on January 1st for the Miss Universe pageant on January 14th. I pinned the flag of Aruba with The name of the Government of Aruba, and wish Kiara her all kind of success."
Minister Ursell Arends commented:It was an honor to crown Aruba its Miss Universe 2022, Kiara Arends. An intelligent person and when one priest helped another, Kiara continued to be a supporter and supporter of Aruba. My aunt wishes Kiara hopes success in the new role.
Although we were crowned a new Miss Aruba, we are not out of gratitude, our outgoing Miss Universe Thessaly Zimmerman has done a great job not only as a top 10 finalist, but also as a supporter of mental health.
Thessaly and Kiara are an inspiration to everyone, whether nan kier represents Aruba outside or back in the community locally.
Sun, Jul 31, 2022: Newly crowned Aruban Beauty Queen Kiara Arends Miss Universe Aruba 2022 will represent her nation Aruba at the 71ST Miss Universe 2022 Competition where India's Harnaaz Sandhu Miss Universe 2021 will crown her successor at the end of the Grand Finale in the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on Sat, Jan 14, 2023.
Kiara Arends, @kiara.arends, Official Age 24 Years, has a Bachelor's of Laws degree with minors in Business and Tax Laws and has worked as an intern at a renowned corporate law firm in Aruba. Arends moved to Belgium at the age of 22 to pursue her Master's of Laws degree, specializing in International Business Trade and Tax law.
Arends was raised in a predominantly female family, and therefore is an active supporter of social justice, especially amongst mothers and young women. During the pandemic in 2020, she founded her organization “BUMP,” which helps equip young mothers with sustainable resources.
As a teenager, Arends formed part of the Unicef Kids Council under the guidance of Princess Laurentien of the Dutch Royal Family. Her passion for sustainable solutions relate back to her love for the oceans she swam in as a young child. It was there that she completed training as a competitive swimmer, landing in the top 3 of swimmers on several occasions nationally and internationally.
Her fluency in four languages has enabled her to travel to over 20 countries. She loves to meet new people and discover new versions of herself in different cultures. Arends firmly believes in the butterfly effect; “one small action can create a chain reaction.”

In government, policy, and business, on Aruba women are prominent – starting from the top position of Prime Minister or CEOs flowing down through all levels of management to entry-level positions. This is the power given to us by opportunity and education.
Thank you Mrs President for this wonderful opportunity and the pin which I will carry with honor at the Miss Universe competition.

Carnival in Aruba is the most anticipated event of the year! A whole month of celebrations with parades, parties and live music. It is a pre-lent celebration that was launched for the first time in 1944 to commemorate the allied victory of World War II. Shortly after, several bands began to make their appearance in small parades.
