Contestant's Statement

Delegate #8 is feeling GREAT post-interview!

Proud of my 10 minutes in the room where it happens and grateful for such a friendly panel of judges.

Feels appropriate that I kicked off the first area of competition wearing the first piece of wardrobe I selected for this week! I had a clear vision in mind for my interview look and I fell in love with this number at Saks while visiting Los Angeles for Miss NC prep several months ago. No better feeling than fully feeling like *me* for every minute in the interview room today.

Next up… talent and onstage question Thursday night!

Thank you to JH Adams Inn for so graciously hosting us for interviews this week!

Hair and makeup by me

One of the most special things to me about being a Miss NC local titleholder is the privilege to carry on time-honored traditions. Hearing my parents’ and mentors’ stories from “back in the day” takes on new meaning when I’m now able to work toward and experience some of these things for myself.
Thus, it is with overwhelming gratitude and excitement to announce I have been selected as a member of the 2023 Azalea Festival Queens Court! The Queens Court is a crown jewel of the beautiful traditions Miss NC titleholders can experience, and I am so honored to take part.
This has remained a coveted goal for myself and so many women greatly due to the years of service by Mr. and Mrs. Greg and Beth Bell. I cannot thank you and the selection committee enough for granting me this opportunity, but more importantly for the countless hours of work you volunteer each year to make the Queens Court experience possible.
I can’t wait to be in Wilmington to experience this prestigious festival in a new way alongside 7 other titleholders on the court and the NCAF community!

I cannot believe it has already been 1 year since I was crowned the 74th North Carolina Rhododendron Queen
Beyond thankful for this special year and looking forward to a weekend full of festivities at our 75th Anniversary Celebration in Bakersville, NC! Come join us on the Mountain and escape this heat wave!
