Saroop Roshi is CROWNED Miss World Malaysia, will represent at Miss World 2024

Fri, Aug 25, 2023: The winner against 13 Contestants Saroop Roshi is crowned as Miss World Malaysia 2023-24 at the end of Coronation Show and Grand Finale at the pageant  the pageant venue  Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu, Northern Borneo today on Friday, August 24th, 2023.

The Newly Crowned Saroop Roshi Miss World Malaysia 2023-24 will resepresnt her country at the upcoming, The 72ND Miss World 2024 Pageant while Wenanita Angang will be competing at The 71ST Miss World 2023 in India in December.

The Runners-up are Natalie Ang 1ST Princess, Shu Wen Chai 2ND Princess, Vaishnavi 3RD Princess, Ellesha Meschille 4TH Princess, Adlyn Jayne Andrew 5TH Princess. The list of 14 Miss World Malaysia 2023 Contestants along with Insta Handles is here.

Saroop told just after the crowning that she will now focus on bringing the Miss World crown home to Malaysia! “This title has a lot of responsibilities. I want to concentrate on bringing home the Miss World crown,” said the final-year psychology student.

The 25 year old psychologist added that she will use her new title to help curb suicide among teenagers in Malaysia as this was an important issue facing the country.
Saroop spends a lot of time volunteering in a suicide prevention organization that she set up herself in 2019 called “Unmask Yourself”. 

The guest of honor for the Miss World Malaysia Final was Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor who was represented by Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Phoong Jin Zhe.

In his speech, Hajiji said the Miss World Malaysia 2023 Festival provided a good opportunity to showcase Sabah’s tourism attractions and inviting travelers from around the globe to come to the state.
“Tonight, the stage is set and Sabah stands ready to embrace the spotlight,” he said. “We applaud your efforts to use this platform, through your ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ mission. And using this to promote the potential of young minds by encouraging confidence and self-discipline,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that the “Beauty with a Purpose” mission aptly described the capacity of Miss World Malaysia to go beyond borders to help all communities in need.
“We fully support this empowering journey,” he said.

Hajiji also acknowledged the presence of Miss World Organization Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Julia Morley and the reigning Miss World 2022, Karolina Bielawska.
“We commend you both for inspiring positive change and for your support for Sabah’s tourism. Mrs Julia Morley’s vision has given birth to the Miss World Beauty With A Purpose mission that has reached lives, touched hearts, and created lasting impacts throughout our country and across the world. Well done! well done, well done,” he said.
