Miss America and Second Lieutenant Madison Marsh Attended the State of the Union Address in Washington D.C.

Washington D.C., Thursday, March 7th, 2024 - Miss America Madison Marsh attended the State of the Union address as a special guest of Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3). This historic occasion marks the first time a reigning Miss America will attend The State of the Union address in the brand's 103-year history.


Leading up to this momentous occasion, Madison spent the week in Washington D.C. Some of her appearances included participating in the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, visiting the U.S. Department of Defense Headquarters and touring the Pentagon.

Madison also met with legislators on Capitol Hill to forge connections with lawmakers and advocate for pancreatic cancer research funding.  As Miss America, Madison has the opportunity to spend her year amplifying the work of the Whitney Marsh Foundation, created in honor of her mother who battled pancreatic cancer at a young age.

Madison's attendance at these events signifies a monumental moment in the legacy of the Miss America brand, highlighting the significance of The Miss America Opportunity’s dedication to empowering women and fostering leadership.
